Honor to the Second Amendment!

[show_category_name_post_with_link_punctuation_part_of_name_and_space]

Albert Camus in “The Plague”, in his connection with the sporadic appearances of rats and the audacity with which it was assumed by a part of the population because the plague did not kill them, and that sudden attention to the problem because everyone began to die, reminds us that this is our position regarding massacres with firearms in this country. That famous paragraph by Pastor Niemöller is also immediately present, where the Nazis came for the communists, but since I was not one, I dismissed any concern; And so, they came for almost everyone, and I didn't worry because it wasn't "almost everyone." Until they came for me, and it was too late because there was no one who could defend me.

Inside each of your consciences, and for those who still vehemently defend the Second Amendment, we would have to use some irrefutable asides from history to dismantle its "untouchability" from the literality of its content. First, and as stipulated by history, the amendment was included in response to discussions regarding whether to keep weapons in the hands of the Militia, an armed force made up of citizens who fought the British Army in the American Revolution. . Militias were relied upon as a means of preventing abuses by the newly established government, at a time when the different states were being unified under one federal power. More than 300 years later, this power is more than established and its effectiveness absolutely proven. Secondly, in modern times, revolutions, none, have needed the theory contained in this amendment to overthrow tyrants. That is to say, no society has needed previous massacres with thousands of innocents murdered, weapons in the power of anyone, to elevate the freedom in their possession to “supremacy” to overthrow the tyrants who have subjected them, to lead the statistics in the number of massacres in the world. Using other examples of advanced nations, with highly developed societies, such as Germany, where there is no amendment like ours, and who, in addition, lived in the most aberrant tyrannical situation, and that some madness also accompanies them, “blind” freedom in the acquisition and possession of weapons has not been needed to preserve a “healthy” democracy. And so, like the German one, there are many more cases.

Now, if it is about the respectable position of overvaluing what was written by the founding fathers, if it is about permeabilizing, at any cost, their ideas written in the past, then, using the sanity that has left us with so much suffering , the evolution of the past tense becomes imminent, so why, at least, are access not restricted to the type of weapons, and weapons, to the type of human being?

Returning to the references of Camus and Niemöller, let's not wait for the relatives of Biden, Trump, or Ryan, or the congressmen, or the daughters of Obama, or the sons of the National Rifle Association, to fall into one of those massacres so that there is the possibility of thinking about repealing or modifying the Second Amendment for the sake of emotional empathy. And we should never expect it, not to challenge the magnificence of the destiny that has made so many families in this country sad, let us never expect it because they are surrounded by an immense security group armed to the teeth, and with an intelligence cordon so advanced that , they will never be exposed to the bad luck that chance sometimes gives us and that makes us cry profusely. Families with extreme luck and protected by the same money that comes from the copious coffers of those who produce weapons. It is time for Democrats and Republicans to come together to solve this distressing problem. It is time to direct resources to promote education in the handling of weapons, mental health and to create strict control mechanisms. As things are, we only have to pray to the God of heaven, the one who sent us the grace of his son, a being who always rejected violence, much less the use of weapons in the valuable life of human beings, to That they do not continue massacring us while we continue honoring a law written more than three centuries ago.
