Healthy Doritos. Made with pure Yucca!

Ingredients 

  • 500 gr of Yucca 
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon of Nutritional Yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herbs 
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
  • Spray oil 
  • plastic wrap 

Instructions

  • Bring water to a boil in a pot. Remove the skin from the cassava (If you want, you can use frozen cassava that you get in supermarket freezers) cook in the water until softened. Take it out of the water, drain it and remove the root that is right in the middle. Then put the cassava in the refrigerator for approximately 12 hours.
  • Take it out of the refrigerator, once the time has passed and put it through the processor, add the olive oil and salt. Like magic, a dough will appear ready to make the Doritos. If you don't have a processor, you can grate it with a cheese grater, only if you do it this way, you will have to knead it with your hands until it has the consistency of a dough.
  • When you have the dough ready, you just have to line a counter or any flat part with plastic wrap, spray the paper with oil, place the dough on top of it, add the Nutritional Yeast, Italian herbs and turmeric, knead everything until everything is very smooth. good.
  • Then put more plastic wrap on top of the dough and with the help of a rolling pin stretch the dough, leaving it as thin as possible. Remove the paper from above, place a tray covering the dough, proceed to turn it around so that it is on top of the tray, removing the other paper and place it in the oven at 350F/170C for 15 min. Take it out of the oven and with the help of a knife, draw small triangles, put it back in the oven for 15 more minutes.
  • Finally, with your hands, split the triangles and you will have your HEALTHY AND TASTY DORITOS ready.
  • Just spread them with the Dip of your choice, I love it with Guacamole.


A curious fact that I give you is that with that same dough, without adding seasonings, you can prepare Arepas, Empanadas and even Pizzas.
