Hodges University, 32 healthy reasons to smile

Being faithful to the unrestricted commitment to society to continue offering quality and advanced education, our new educational program will offer our students, and the community in general, 32 healthy reasons to smile. Last fall, we began our classes to award the Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene. Hodges University is the first and only university in the state of Florida to offer a professional degree of this type. And why is this university degree so important? Simple: a Bachelor opens all the doors to access more professional opportunities. In addition to being prepared to take the exam that will certify them as a dental hygienist and allow them to work in it, the graduate will be able to teach in associate level dental programs in Florida. You will also be able to explore avenues for dental research and sales. Earnings for dental hygienists in Florida, on average, are $77,180 per year, and the need for these professionals is expected to grow by up to 10% by 2031.

Our students spent their first semester practicing and honing their skills in our state-of-the-art dental laboratory, where they learned the proper way to clean a patient's teeth. On January 30, 2023, we opened the Hodges University Community Dental Hygiene Clinic to the public. Simply call to schedule your teeth cleaning appointment. Our dental hygiene students are well trained and confident as the faculty supervises them, providing their patients with excellent care. It is an important and necessary step for preventative dental care and overall good oral health.

During the appointment, patients will receive oral health exams, preventive dental cleanings, and, if necessary, digital x-rays. Dental cleaning prices start at $30 for children up to 16 years old and $40 for adults. X-rays range from $ 15 to $ 40. Future services will include periodontal scaling/root planing, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants. The Hodges University Dental Hygiene Clinic is open Mondays from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm; Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm Appointments can be made by calling (239) 938-7787. For questions or more information, you can email the clinic: hudental@hodges.edu

And the 32 healthy reasons to smile? It's our teeth and your health because they will be in the best hands with our professionals and Hodges University's proven ability to continue teaching.
